Debated, written about, contested
It remains
An enigma to younger generations
We still want to know
Who was it
To whose credit
Is Uhuru
We walk about
Knowing we know little
Almost nothing
Of who we are
Where we came from
Who we ought to be
Their spirits are yet to rest
They call on us, the young
To tell the true story of the liberation
The true story of the revolution
Indeed,
